Level 10

One of the best "disaster" novels I ever read was by two great Science fiction authors, Larry Niven & Jerry Pournelle, "Lucifer's Hammer". Excellent, detailed & great characters along with a great "disaster" scenario & aftermath. Highly recommended!

I like the impactor idea..though understand the possible necessity of use a nuke, as long as it's detonation is used to push the asteroid out of it's orbit..destroying it could create many smaller but very dangerous asteroids/ meteors..
