I just keep finding more and more reasons to avoid Alabama like the plague. (As if, right?) THIS ONE is that if a woman gets raped, even by a relative, the rapist can claim parental rights to the child and force her to CO-PARENT! This seems horrifying to me, as it is not theoretical. There are always consequences . Laws are not cast in stone and often serve as the impetus to mobilize a whole section of the population. Beware, Alabama men. Life may just become very uncomfortable for you.
