Lots of child molesters are devoutly religious. I should know. I staffed the reception desk at Family Services for 13 years. Many abusive parents (mostly men) wore religious buttons on their shirts. "God loves unborn children" ... "Abortion stops a beating heart" .... "God is pro-life" and many others. It is really something to see christian pedophiles wearing religious buttons and spouting buybull verses.

I think the Catholic Church is largely responsible for the mis-perception that their is a direct correlation between homosexuality and pedophilia. After all the church served as a haven for both groups for centuries.

The reality is that 98% of pedophiles are heterosexual men. A lot of them are married and there is a larger than expected percentage of them who identify themselves as religious. So the very people who preach this hate may be indulging themselves.
