I love the "Rocket Man" movie so much, I saw it twice. Taron Egerton's performance as Elton John is truly a marvel. Egerton sang Eltonβs songs and played Elton with vulnerability, pathos, skill and verve, owning the picture.
Stephen Colbert took Elton John through his greatest hits on Elton's new "Diamonds" CD:
Inspired by Stephen Colbert's delightful interview with Elton John, now 72, I bought Elton's "Diamonds" CD.
Love it. Wish it had "Honky Cat," but you can't have everything.
Loved it. Great music...artfully woven into the story. And taking us through the arc of his life's emotional pain added great depth.
My favorite song of his is, "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues". He has some other good "non-hit" songs too.
Possibly the best Rock and Roll show I have ever attended.
He was so obviously having the time of his life.
He was so entertained with entertaining.
In the mid-1980s, I saw Elton John in concert at the Tacoma Dome, WA. Sold out.
Elton John was wonderful! When he sang "Rocket Man," he was lifted up to the ceiling. The crowd loved it.
What a showman!
Elton sang and played piano with passion, verve and heart.
I'm looking forward to seeing it soon. I really enjoyed Bohemian Rhapsody and am a bigger fan of Elton than I was Queen. I hope that sometime before I die an equally good movie is made about David Bowie.
It's missing some other great songs, like Levon, Burn Down The Mission, Someone Saved My Life Tonight, and Empty Garden.
I had such a crush on his voice when I was really little. I still do.
