It amazes me that when these guys make such declarative statements which turn out to be false that they don't lose any followers.

Maybe not in the short term, but maybe in the long term. Some religious people can find a path of enlightenment. Just look at all former believers in this community. The last 2 plus years have been the most peaceful of my life.
