When the conspiracy theories hit your feed:
https:// My goal is to offer some criteria for sifting through all the content we see every day, so we can tell the difference between fair reporting and something so biased it should not be taken seriously.
Hereโs a checklist, some of which I shared with my friends on Facebook, to help interrogate any content โ and that includes what we publish at ProPublica.com//
I love the 'checklist' from this article !
I would wish this on everyone (including on this website).
Is the Presentation One-Sided?
Is There an Independent Pursuit of the Truth?
Is There a Careful Adherence to the Facts?
Are Those Accused Allowed to Respond?
Are All Sources Named and Cited, and if Not, Is the Reason Explained?
Does the Work Claim Some Secret Knowledge?
Great list!!!! I would add....did you Google the source/people to see what kind of standing they have?
@AnneWimsey I routinely do that (although for privacy I use Startpage). I have been blocked by users for 'chastising' them about their source choices.
@FearlessFly none so blind as those who will not see.......
