When I was about 10 years old my mother made me a ninja costume for Halloween and it was totally bad ass. Unfortunately after the holiday my mother denied me the benefit of wearing the costume out in public despite my repeated requests.

Well who is laughing now? Not only is it perfectly acceptable to wear a ninja mask in public, it is expected. So in your stupid face mom. Deal with it!

Update: I was just turned away from Kroger. Those god damn racists said I could not enter with my katana or throwing stars even though I have a doctor’s note.

Outside of weddings and funerals, I let my boys dress themselves, even if that meant wearing a halloween costume in June. I figured it would eventually self correct to something socially acceptable. My first born created some AWESOME fashion statements.

The ninja won out in the end.
