I took note, especially, of the bit about mental illness, police response to same, the likely outcome of such a situation, and the possible alternative.
It strikes me as a very sensible solution to have a separate team available to handle disturbances caused by mental illness. As it stands now, police are often called when a mental-health expert would be a much more sensible choice.
BRAVO, H.C! The last part is probably going to be greeted with sneers from existing cops...but, anyone can see potential in those ideas. So...who thinks it could work?
