It finally happened to me today, I knew it would eventually, but I was ready. I came out of Walmart with my mask on and keeping six feet distance to everyone, pushed my cart to my car, all the while wearing my mask. A woman was getting out of her car next to me with no mask. As I'm putting groceries into my car she says, "Let me guess - you're a liberal. Cause that mask ain't gonna do anything for you except make you look stupid ." In anticipation of this happening, because I figured it might someday, I already had a response ready. I said "Look, I woke up with a temperature of 102 this morning (I didn't) plus I work around hundreds of people in close quarters (I donβt) so this is for your protection, not mine. How about I take it off and we hug like old friends?" I stepped toward her and acted as if I was taking off my mask. She stepped back away from me and went across to the next row of cars. I followed her, she kept walking away, I chased her, she ran... She fell down. I grabbed her foot. I pulled on her leg, just as Iβm pulling yours. copy & paste, pass it on
I really wish that were true and happening every day everywhere.
Me too!!
Wow that is tame...here are my experiences so far: Called a cunt, told to keep on eating propaganda, flipped off, had a crazy guy keep advancing towards me with no mask, grinning maniacally. People are FUCKING INSANE. I have little to no hope for humanity.
I guess I am lucky to have been the first woman allowed to work in a shipyard (1973) amongst 20,000 plus men, many of whom drank copious amounts of booze at lunchtime...I am ready for pretty much anything, I guess.
@AnneWimsey You go girl!
Most people are reasonable and want to do the right thing. Come November the deplorables will commence slithering back under the rocks from which they came and we will commence the long, arduous task of restoring equilibrium and working toward being better than ever in every respect.
I'm sorry these ridiculous things are happening to you. Please feel free to seek support here.
So sorry there are so many daft people out there. I hope you stay alive and keep your sense of humour, Iβm afraid that fear and uncertainty bring out the worst in people.
