I hate god and he hates me
that's the way it's meant to be
I nailed his kid to a piece of wood
that should cause lots of good
balance in this universe
you're not sick?
I better snatch a purse

I don't know how this would sound in lyric form, but my favorite line is about faith.
"You and I can jump off this cliff together, you use your faith, and I'll use my parachute, and I'll meet you at the bottom."

This is the life to live for, the only one you get, be the person you want to be, someone they won’t forget.

Your condemnation to nonexistence is no punishment at all.

A Perfect Circle - Judith

You're such an inspiration for the ways
That I'll never ever choose to be
Oh so many ways for me to show you
How the savior has abandoned you
Fuck your God
Your Lord and your Christ
He did this
Took all you had and
Left you this way
Still you pray, you never stray
Never taste of the fruit
You never thought to question why
It's not like you killed someone
It's not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you
Broken down and paralyzed
He did it all for you
He did it all for you
Oh so many many ways for me to show you
How your dogma has abandoned you
Pray to your Christ, to your god
Never taste of the fruit
Never stray, never break
Never---choke on a lie
Even though he's the one who did this to you
You never thought to question why
Not like you killed someone
It's Not like you drove a spiteful spear into his side
Talk to Jesus Christ
As if he knows the reasons why
He did it all for you
Did it all for you
He did it all for you..

It's already been written, but here is my all time favorite.....

Oh, once in a while
I learn how to smile.
Horses shadows and rain on stone.

No God here I’m sure.
This must be the cure
For all this carrion and aimless drift.

Retreat from the begging
And invites to the wedding.
Revelation means nothing here.

In time we forget our
Need to devour.
All the stories of tortured souls.

Crawl into your arms.
Become the night forever.
Coiled and close, the moment froze.

Deform to form a star
Here on earth together.
I got time to share, and a well used stare.

This smile isn’t pure,
Certain or sure.
Cold precision was never there.

The way we uncoil,
Return to the soil,
Flaws are everything and chaos reigns.

We are stardust... Wait. That song has been written, too.

Atheists need a comfort phrase? If I like a song - I listen to it - if I don't like it - I don't listen to it. Never once have I felt the need as an anti-theist to be comforted. What am I missing here?

I'll rephrase
In Country Western songs like
Everything is going to be alright
You sing along with it, the song reaches your emotions. There are others if you can over look a reference or two to Deity based language such as --If your going through hell keep on going, Always be humble and kind, Most people are good.

Country Western: Aint no god gonna judge me, Aint no god gonna command me etc etc
Metal: Free from god! Free from dogma! etc etc
Boyband: I will be there for you, when no spirit will, I will hear your voice, and I wish Ans-wer you~

I've already heard it. John Lennon's "Imagine"

Good one!

Oh YES!

Yes, but it makes me sad sometimes, when I think about how he died.
