Today, I learnt about EMERGENCE...a phenomenon in nature were simple things or even relatively 'stupid' things join together to be more and to do more than they can, individually. EMERGENCE seems to be everywhere in nature. Are we nothing more than an EMERGENCE of our cells? Why do societies break down sometimes? Is it a lack of EMERGENCE?

Yes emergence theory should be taught in all schools, it is one of he fundamental things, like evolution by natural selection, everyone should understand.

Collectivism when it's done by people because they can improvise and try new things. Emergence amongst the animal kingdom is instinctive. They are programmed. Beavers build a dam. There's a reason why, they just don't know it. Humans know why.
