LINK What Does Free Speech Mean? | United States Courts

One of my personal irritations is the popular belief that first amendment 'freedom of speech' protection gives people in the US the right to say anything they want -- with no repercussions at all. Here is a quick government link describing of some of the things that are (and are not) protected as free speech.
And remember, this is strictly from the federal government's point of view.

Freedom of speech is still growing, those listed are just the ones we (the people) have won explicitly.
U.S. Law is based on precedent, not a codex.
So every time someone doesn't like you speaking freely they can challenge, but they always run the risk of permanently giving their opponents permission to say the very thing they don't like in the first place.
Speak your mind.
There's no down side.

You can say anything you want legally unless you endanger people's safety. Social Media has terms that you agree to so they can banned you or censor what you say. You can even say hateful, hurtful or dangerous things if you word them properly so not to be provable as to intent.
