greed has gotten us where we are
...a grateful electorate voted Democratic until a war hero chose to run as a Republican.
A disgruntled wanna-be condidate, Ohio’s Senator Robert Taft, and far right Republicans were soon calling Eisenhower a communist sympathizer and expelling moderate Republicans — starting the Party down the path to what it now is.
