I’m reading John Boehner’s book, On the House. He’s an interesting guy, speaks his mind and writes just the way he speaks, plain English. He goes after the crazy ass Republicans that turned the government into a circus just as hard as he does any Democrats. Even his successors as Speaker of the House. I may not agree with what he believes, but I admire his integrity and honesty. He is one of few Republicans brave enough to face off against Stephen Colbert. That alone takes guts!

It's obvious he misses the limelight and the bribes.

If you read the book, he thrashes his own party, savages Ted Cruz and the other Trumplicans, including Trump. He got out of politics because the sensible Republicans were being marginalized and his attempts to get any kind of legislation passed were being stymied by his own Party. He is an very interesting guy and like I said, though I don't agree with his conservative agenda, he is, like John McCain, someone I would be able to enjoy having a glass of wine and conversation with I believe. They were men of principle, even if our values didn't mesh.

I love how once they are out of office they 'tell it like it is'. Too many elected officials know exactly what they are doing and they do not give a damn.
