(I am sot so sure this is the way to go)
A handful of House Democrats on Tuesday introduced long-shot legislation to fundamentally reshape the Supreme Court, which comes amid pressure from progressives to take action over a recent Court decision that left in place a controversial Texas abortion law.
What might benefit you now could came back and take a big bite out your ass later. That is one of the problems with the House. With elections every two years, they spend more time raising funds and campaigning then they do actually doing work for their constituents. If the Court had to suck up to whichever Party was in power when their term expired. It would be even worse than it already is. The Republicans just hit the jackpot with McConnell’s ability to stop Obama from an appointment and the death of RBG and a retirement that allowed Trump to stack the court. Next ones to leave may benefit us if we can maintain our Senate majority for the next eight years.
Long overdue! I cannot think of a single ruling, ever, that public opinion & public policy hasn't had its' usefulness, & "perception" changed over say, 35 years.
Even abortion, with the advent of "morning after" pills, much better ability to diagnose problem pregnancies, and far more openness about rape & incest.
Yes, lower courts can & do make modifications & "updates", but it is Such a peacemeal/patchwork job, your timely "justice" depending heavily on where you live
