A year ago we nearly had a violent overthrow of our national Government. Some are jokingly referring to the day as "Benedict Arnold day".

Here's the details, from NPR;

Here's the link to Stephen Colbert's monologue - which highlighted Biden's response. Impressive. Thanks again, Bill;

Excerpts from the link:
"Some pro-Trump commentators and politicians have asserted that the rioters were "unarmed." This is false. "The objects thrown at us varied in size, shape and consistency, some were frozen cans and bottles, rebar from the construction, bricks, liquids, pepper spray, bear spray, sticks of various widths, pipes, bats, some were armed with guns and some had tasers or something similar,"
"Prosecutors have also cited evidence that some defendants brought firearms to the Capitol grounds, though not inside the building itself. "

Again, the false narrative that the insurrectionists were not heavily armed. Only the CIA could enact the across-the-board censorship of the Capitol Police seizing long-guns. And WHY would they do that??? (except to protect their script). And neither the DOJ nor the Capitol Police have admitted this.

From the article:
"Escobar: I made my way from one side of the gallery to the other amid the “Get down! Take cover!” screams, and when we got there, we were again instructed to get down. I was watching the police officers with their guns pointed at the terrorists. I could see their faces through the broken glass on the door, and I remember feeling very afraid for the police because I thought they were going to get shot in the head. "
"Escobar: I was in the last group to leave the gallery, along with Mikie Sherrill, because Pramila Jayapal was using a cane and we stayed behind to make sure she got out safe. I don’t remember there being a police officer there to escort us out. As we descended the stairs, going from the third floor to the second, I turned and saw men with long guns facedown on the floor and officers surrounding them with drawn guns. The men on the ground were looking right at us. It was just awful..."

Good research, Howard!

@Robecology Why do YOU think the media has censored the presence of long guns being seized by insurrectionists?

@racocn8 I don't know that they have "censored the presence of long guns being seized by insurrectionists"...it's just too detailed for me to care...but you did careful research...well done!

American citizens own more fire arms and ammo than the US military and the only shot fired was a cop killing an unarmed woman.
Big wussies.

@Druvius I never said that they were smart in their actions, but it damn sure wasn’t an ‘Insurrection’.
They were a hell of a lot nicer than the democrats protesters in Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, and New York though. Far less damage and deaths.
