This one is for the republicans, democrats, progressives, social democrats, democratic socialists, crony capitalists, state capitalists, or whatever Orwellian phrase you use to obfuscate the fact that you are a fascist.
The two worst regimes on the planet were communist/socialist. Stalin's USSR, and MAO's china. Both of which killed tens of millions. And continue to be some of the biggest threats to freedom.
Neither were/are capitalist in any way, despite their horse shit proclamations. Nor were the nazis, mussolini, franco,....
Being unaligned to any political party whether American, European, English, Australian, Chinese, Russian or South American I am of the opinion that their behaviours identifies none better than the other.
Sadly the song advocates murder.
Consider this:-
For quite a while now I have advocated that religious belief is a form of psychosis or folies en masse.
@TheInterlooper do you also advocate that all religious people be murdered?
@TheInterlooper the ones that proclaim themselves right wing or fascist?
As a huge bluegrass/folk fan -- and a banjo player -- I like his playing, can't say I like the lyrics.
@TheInterlooper I might go so far as schadenfreude, but not 'celebrating' their death.
ymmv
The lyrics seemingly are Woody Guthrie's and written from the time that America was at war against the German 3rd Reich.
Perhaps you will prefer these: "The Ballad of Mauthausen & Farantouri's Cycle - More than 55 years have elapsed since this was first..."
Yep, really something to believe in there, Jethro forsaking his morning shower to sing about killing fascists with zero indication that he understands what fascism is, its history or current application.
@TheInterlooper I didn't say that I don't know what fascism is, I said there was no indication that the singer did.
Yours may be one definition of fascism but it's not a generally accepted one. Big follower of Mussolini, are you?
@TheInterlooper If I felt I had anything to learn from this conversation or that you had the capacity to learn anything from it, I would continue it but I already know that people who sing about killing people or perpetuate such hate mongering always detract more than they contribute. It's a matter of fundamental character.
