I used to like his music, but he made some other controversial comments a few years ago that rubbed me the wrong way and I've decided not buy his music anymore, though I do play my favorites I've already purchased.

He will sell a lot of music from this whole kerfuffle to people who might not ever have heard of him before, a new generation perhaps.

Wasn't he planning to leave Spotify and start his own platform anyway? How convenient for his income that he took this stand just as his own platform is getting off the ground.

To be honest, I have no idea how long Joe Rogan has been spewing anti-vax propaganda, since I've never listened to him. Did it start just before Neil Young broke from Spotify or had it been going on a long time? I don't know.

I'm not going to worship someone for making some wise statements or taking the right stand, while ignoring the wrong stands and wrong comments now and then. I like his music, but I don't have to like every facet of his personality. Same goes for a lot of people in a lot of professions. Everyone is human - we can like them for what they do best.

When someone in the public eye takes a stand, it's going to gain some fans and lose some fans. In any case, it brings the conversation out into the open, so perhaps it's all for the best that the bad things get brought up along with the good things - both of which are in the eye of the beholder.

Not sure about Rogan as I never listened to his podcasts before, but thought it good to present the other side of the story too, as any of those who have come out in support of Neil Young and Joni Mitchell might be interested in knowing about some of the biased comments they had made in the past.
