Got my first political solicitation of 2022 just now via text; oddly from the democrats. In the Florida panhandle that weird, because this is a deep bloody red area. I’m registered as independent because firstly I am, and secondly I don’t want lynched on my way to Lowes.
What do you think; Is it too early to start revving people up to vote? Will they cool of by November?
I'm wary of unsolicited contacts. I've received text messages from at least 10 numbers, all claiming to be Nancy Pelosi. Never heard of "Voterizer.org".
I've been getting a lot of those via-email. Once you give money watch out.
We've already seen ever-more degenerate behavior in a race to the bottom. But it's a bottom that has no bottom. So, the effort to out-do each other in their expression of extremism should provide ongoing provocations. As SCOTUS unveils it's plans to revoke basic rights, or end Church-State separation, expect more pyrotechnics.
Not it's not too early. The Dems can't count on the crazy shit the gop is doing to get folks to vote for them - not this time. I have called my reps regularly (they're all dems) and told them they really need to up their game as far as the messaging goes.
No, it's not too early but it will matter, more, after August. We've all known this is the election cycle for many years so, now, it's plug and play. The trick is to cause a greater enthusiasm for mid-terms and local elections. That is best achieved, in my view, by removing powers assigned to WH that Founders did not intend. Yes, that's messy and not great for the party in WH but the only significant remedy.
As for the meme, I'd speak to the greater issue of human health for everyone. Making any health related need a rightful part of health care (and any procedure funded by taxation) provides security for everyone. That would probably have wider appeal than an issue which only affects women (or pregnant women in the immediate). That reduces the strength of support for a government action.
