I always felt he was a Renaissance man.

He was a man of peace confronting ReaGUN for reducing nuke weapons

Yeah, it Wasn't Gorbachev that ended the Soviet Union, it was Saint Ronny Raygun, right?

That is the asinine lie the GOP has been promulgating since the USSR dissolved. (Taking credit for what happened entirely in Russia)

@racocn8 actually it started in Gdansk,Poland when the shipyard workers under Solidarnoc went on strike..and Won. This precipitated the eventual fall of the Polish Communist Party and it control of Poland.

I have always kinda liked that guy. He got the ball rolling for Russia, but between our gloating instead of helping Russia through their transition, and the leaders who have followed him, especially Putin, they are pretty much the same shit hole of a country that they have been for their entire existence. It is really kind of sad.

Wow, he's been around like forever, though we haven't heard anything about him in a long time. I had almost forgotten about him.

@SeaGreenEyez I was thinking along those lines as well.

Putin kept him well hidden. In Vlad’s mind he sold out the empire, I’m sure. I imagine he was feeling lucky he wasn’t in a Siberian gulag after Putin took over.
