(I think the series is more about making money than it is about proving there is a god.)
God’s Not Dead 5 (or, more accurately, God’s Not Dead: Rise Up) is coming to a TV or phone near you in 2023, according to a press release from Pure Flix. Production on the film will begin later this year.
(I know what you’re thinking: There was a THIRD film? No. You’re lying. That never happened, much less a FOURTH film. Why was there a sequel at all? HOW MANY TIMES CAN THIS GOD DIE?! Get your act together, atheists, and finish the damn job!)
David A. R. White, the co-founder and managing partner of Christian film studio Pure Flix and the main character in the previous two films in the series, will once again star in this vanity project. And, not surprisingly, Christian nationalism is the focus: ...
Like certain movies only produced to give stunt crews work, a lot of these seem to be made in order that Hollywood Christian conservatives can be employed.
I don't think these movies are made or produced by "Hollywood".
@snytiger6 - back when they was considered Hollywood (or at least Burbank).
@WilliamCharles "Hollywood" in terms of studios and entertainment covers a lot of cities in greater Los Angeles. Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, Universal City, Studio City, Culver City, Redondo Beach, and various parts of the city of Los Angeles.
However, I think the God is not Dead movies are produced in the Southern states.
@snytiger6 - right, but some of the actors have some legacy in "Hollywood."
I know how it is going to end , God saves. I rather see what happens in heaven or hell We don’t ever see the finish to the never ending story, just the threat of it.
I have very much better things to do with my life than waste it on watching trash films made by trash minds.
A whole lot of money to be made off the true believers!
Yeah, Mel Gibson made millions off of "The Passion of the Christ " torture porn movie, and it has spawned a lot of really bad Christian movies, as everyone hopes to rake in millions as he did.
@snytiger6 Thankfully, I never saw that movie, but boy did I keep hearing about it. I have never been into torture porn, whether it's the Hostel films, Gibson's film, or the Saw series. But I'm not surprised there is such a big market for them. We have lots of sadistic, desensitized zombies here in the US.
@TomMcGiverin I never saw it either. Quite honestly I was surprised that so many far right wingers paid to see a movie in Aramaic with subtitles.
As a member of SAG, I had a chance to see it for free, but I didn't. I had no interest in it.
Yeah, and those gluttons eat a fuck of a lot of popcorn!!!
God is not dead because He never existed, except in the minds of many deluded individuals.
People who think atheists should, would, or ever could finish God off are people who don’t know where the God idea comes from. The wish to see God gone is a deathwish, because the God concept is an integral part of the human species. When it goes, we go.
No worry. We’ll probably be gone in a few decades. But if a handful of humans manage to survive the coming extinction cycle… they will, without question, carry a God concept forward. Not every individual, but our species for certain.
If that is true, how come millions of people survived for thousands of years with pretheistic religions ?
Well, I guess it's no different than how Dracula seemed to always come back no matter how many times he got staked, lol... Same as endless Dracula movies, it's all about money... Christianity will never die in American politics...
