Witness dandelions through concrete, tube worms at tremendous depth & heat at the mouth of undersea volcanos, aaaand etc.....
It works. Humans and other primates have mirror neurons. It's what makes us learn things from others in our species. It does not mean we aren't sentient and aware. We just are aware within the parameters of our own brains.
