I had forgotten about the "lucky" rabbit's foot I spent my allowance on one week when I was probably 7 or 8. My brother and I walked down to the local shoe repair shop to pick up my dad's shoes, when we saw the display of rabbit feet. The shop owner "Alec" said they were lucky, so I went home to get my allowance, came back and bought one.

I still remember the feeling of the bones under the fur. It creeped me out thinking about it, but it didn't occur to me to think about how or why it would be deemed lucky. It didn't bring me any luck that I can recall.
