Coffee & Covid - Jeff Childers
'In another development that will infuriate virtue-signalers and other woke liberals, three years and umpteen studies later, the obscene Mayo Clinic has finally decided to stop denying The Science:
'Beginning Monday April 10th, wearing a face mask will no longer be required
for patients and staff in most patient care areas on Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health Systems campuses.'
Coincidentally, assuming Biden does not sign the bill ending the covid state of emergency, it will automatically become law on April 10th, the same day Mayo plans to drop mandatory masking. Weird.'
For the ACTUAL (full) story, see @skado's reply, below, and then reflect on how sad it is that this poster must clip & paste to support his pathetic narrative.
What salient points are missing in the synopsis above that
would alter the overall narrative of the slightly longer piece?
Hey, Novak is playing in the US open. Looks like the top drug pushers ran out of vaccines scams.
The point being, masks have proven to have no
utility under all other circumstances.
The media doctors tells people to not eat eggs because it's s unhealthy. Some sciencist says the eggs interferes with the process of the vaccines. That's like doctor telling patients to fatten up with sugar.before chemotherapy. They say for reasons unknown, although Cancer thrives on sugar.
They stopped warning people to avoid eggs about 20 years ago, try something current whydoncha.
I produce eggs, and will eat them everyday
reguardless that Big Pharma want us to avoid them. Because eggs are really healthy especially my duck eggs. The true and real sciencist have proven today vaccines are harmful.
They go back and forth all of the time.
Here, let me help. I know you intended to tell the whole story, so here’s the part you forgot to report:
“In line with Mayo Clinic’s commitment to patient care, Mayo Clinic will continue to require wearing a face mask in high-risk patient settings. High-risk immunocompromised patients will be notified to wear a mask while they are at Mayo Clinic.
Mayo Clinic is evolving its policies due to the consistently low rates of hospitalizations, mortality and community transmission levels of COVID-19 observed at most Mayo Clinic locations. COVID-19 cases have decreased significantly since January 2022, along with a significant drop in deaths and hospitalizations nationwide.
People may still choose to wear masks, and Mayo will support their decision to do so.”
That does not change the fact that face masks have
never proven to be effective against the spread of
a virus, even in a clinical setting.
They were pure theatrics.
All the trained and experienced medical professional knew that masks
never worked. That is what the medical literature has shown going back decades.
Masks were not shown to have any benefit.
Conclusions, Utilising a robust quasi-experimental approach,
we found no evidence that a mask policy significantly impacts the rate of nosocomial SARS-CoV-2 infection (with the Omicron variant)
Unmasking the mask: a time-series analysis of nosocomial COVID- 19 rates before and after removal
@BDair KNEW it was only a matter of time until you dredged up this "doctor"....FYI he is a actually a nurse but calls himself "doctor" because he has a ph.D in Philosophy.......misleading, ya think?
oh, wait, it all fits together........
@AnneWimsey He is a medical professional
and educator with thousands of hours
of instructional videos online that millions
of people have viewed as well as being a
revered textbook author.
How many times do I have to point out how ill-informed you are?
You are most welcome, as always,
to provide evidence in rebuttal to his presentation here
which is a reading of study data.
Here's one....
....and another.

With 2.75 Million subscribers,
I would have to say that his
opinions carry vastly more weight than
yours do, Ms. Knownothing.
@BDair like you, he goes on the internet with BS, not exactly a recommendation for most of us, but you do you, BDair...just try keeping it to yourself, okay? it's all tiresome at best.........
You are welcome to post information that
supports your uninformed opinions.
@BDair
In the early days of the pandemic I watched Dr. Campbell daily, because he seemed to be just reporting the statistics, and recommending sensible precautions. But later some of his ideological prejudices began to show through, and I could no longer trust that his analyses were as unbiased as he claimed. I eventually stopped watching altogether.
I've seen similar trajectories in other people whom I admired and followed for a while, until their popularity, apparently started to affect their content.
It's called "audience capture".
It's apparently a very powerful influence, even on well-intentioned, smart people, which I don't doubt Dr. Campbell is. You start off trying to do an honest day's work, just reporting the facts and trying to provide meaningful commentary, which people really appreciate, and your audience begins to grow. It is very reasonable to be paid for one's labor, so you hook up a Patreon account or PayPal or some other means of monetizing your work, like Google Ads, and proceed on. No problem.
But eventually it becomes apparent, either consciously or subconsciously, that if you just raise an eyebrow in just the right way, at just the right point in the presentation, signaling doubt about the official narrative without actually saying anything that could get you flagged for misinformation, that your audience grows, and you make more money. Before you know it, you are saying, either directly or indirectly whatever brings the biggest paycheck, and maybe even coming to believe the stuff yourself.
I watched it happen to a number of people I thought were brilliant at first. Jordan Peterson, Bret Weinstein, Jimmy Dore, and the good Doctor Campbell. I don't think they are bad people. I think they are human people. And humans are limited as to how much personal gain they can justify turning down when people are begging to give it to them in return for "justifying" their fears.
My feelings are similar to this quote from Dr. Gorski:
"In August 2022 David Gorski wrote for Science-Based Medicine that while at the beginning of the pandemic Campbell had "seemed semi-reasonable", he later became a "total COVID-19 crank”.”

Other people have noticed also:
In the early days of right wing talk radio, Rush Limbaugh taught us all that gobs of money could be made quickly by scaring the undereducated and fanning the flames of their paranoia. Now anyone with an internet connection can do the same. It's a temptation that many just can't resist.
.
He changed his opinions when he discovered
new information. That is how a scientific mind works.
He still just reviews the medical literature,
and presents what it says.
What the preponderance of medical literature shows,
is that masks have never worked to prevent the spread of
a respiratory virus, the Covid vaccines never concluded
normal trial protocols, they never prevented infection or transmission,
and they are causing enormous amounts of harm and excess mortality
all around the planet.
It is too bad that you did not follow along with his voyage
of discovery and ultimate enlightenment.
How David Gorski defends the narrative and why he refuses to be challenged live
David Gorski is a master of deception. He uses long, complex documents to paint a completely one-sided picture. He declines debates because he risks losing. He even admits that.
@BDair
No he doesn't "just reviews the medical literature, and presents what it says." He sneers and leers and and makes oblique insinuations that can get past the moderators but still connects with those listening for the dog whistles. That is not " how a scientific mind works".
I don't have the medical training to even interpret the statistics he presents, so I have to rely on the professionals and institutions whose job it is to understand these complex issues and advise the public. Like myself, many of those professionals thought Dr.John was a straight shooter in the beginning, but started seeing more and more bias in his reporting, and finally came to the conclusion that he was not reliable.
The grain of truth in your claim is that recommendations do change as the virus mutates and more knowledge comes in. But somehow the conspiracy crowd don't remember that when one of their chosen enemies changes his recommendations - only when their heroes do. Hmmm...
