On June 10th, my favorite author, Jim Butcher shall be in Michigan, in a little town just outside of Lansing... I cannot wait. ^_^ Never mind the fact I have to drive a bit less than 6 hours to see him. This is Sooooo worth it. Anyone wanna join me? Interested?
No I would have to drive for 32 hours to get to Michigan.
When I read the title I filled with hope thinking that Thomas Perry came out with yeat another Butcher's Boy series novel. Oh well.
So I looked up Jim Butcher. Evidently he has at least two book series. which one is mroe interesting?
The Dresden Files is very good, it's one of the first series he started and it's still ongoing and has also gotten a quite a few Graphic Novels from it as well. I have enjoyed this series immensely although his writing was a little rough at first as it was the series he started with. But every book has gotten better and better as the series goes on. It's about a wizard/private investigator living in modern day Chicago saving the world one act of destruction at a time. Lol.
Codex Alera series isn't as good but has some Roman Army undertones and it was a time when he was fleshing out his style. Takes place in an alternate world and he kept it short. I think there were 4 or 5 books in the series.
The Cinder Spires series is whole lot of fun with the author at his best! It Post Apocalyptic setting with Steampunk, Airships, Talking cats, and some marvelous characters.
? 8 hour drive... dang.
Luckily, Wikipedia lists book series in order, so I can pretty easily figure out which one comes first.
BTW, if you haven't read Thomas Perry, I highly recommend his books, both The Buthcer's Boy series and the Jane Whitefield series are both good.
Interested but it would be a few days drive and I will be starting summer classes in that time frame... I will have to watch and see if he is coming close to where I rest.
Just out of curiosity: have you read the Iron Druid Chronicles? I enjoy both authors, immensely.
I'd like to, but Michigan is too far for me given my current work schedule. I hope you have a good time there though.
Thanks
