I do not envy their lack of acceptance from kids in their own age group and having to turn to adults for socialization.
One aspect NOT discussed is the resentment of adults who find these kids outshine them.

@annewimsey500 That can be true for everyone, not just with prodigies. Sadly, most parents aren't prepared or educated about raising kids, and inadvertently do some psychological damage.
