LINK Biologists program cells to self-organize into 3D-structures in a first step towards tissues that regrow and self-repair

Wow!

Now, in a study published May 31, 2018 in Science, researchers have demonstrated the ability to program groups of individual cells to self-organize into multi-layered structures reminiscent of simple organisms or the first stages of embryonic development.

"What is amazing about biology is that DNA allows all the instructions required to build an elephant to be packed within a tiny embryo," said study senior author Wendell Lim, Ph.D.

I wish they'd come up with a cure for dying. I'm running out of time.

Well my friend, I am not that far behind.... I have made peace with it though. Can't change the course of things but enjoy the ride

Is this due to your (not so) advanced age of 59, or is there another issue? I'm within weeks of 72. This week I'm not thinking about death so much. Last week I thought about it a lot.

@OldDave I don't feel old at all, but I'm looking at the numbers. I'm glad you're not thinking about death this week.
