To help start this group, we automatically added members who said they could attend the 2018 American Atheist convention. See "American Atheists National Convention"
I wasn't able to make it to OKC for the conference. Would love to hear from anyone that did.
Anyone else from AR there?
I met a couple from Ft Smith.
Loved the convention. Going to be more active from now on.
I was there. It was awesome!!
Tell us more. What impressed you most? Did anything not meet your expectations? Think you'll attend another one?
@RedRiverRogue - I admit when I arrived I felt like a marginalized group of Americans. By the time I left, I was inspired to take action and become someone who makes a difference in the landscape of prejudice promulgated by the xtian right wing nutjobs. I am one of many Assistant State Representatives for America Atheists. Taking action locally will have a ripple effect. I strongly urge you to become involved. Contact American Atheists to find out how.
Yes, I will absolutely attend another one. Next year it will be in Kentucky (or Cincinnati maybe?, as I see on a post below); I am already starting to make plans. Some of the best parts were just being around like minded individuals. It felt good knowing others have similar thoughts and beliefs (or lack thereof). I was expecting more people though, but I think David Silverman said the turnout was around 850 or so.
I wish I could go next year!!
They said next year is going to be in Kentucky.
It is always on Easter Week-end and it will be in Cincinnati next year! Start saving!
Thanks. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you again and others for the first time.
