I'm allergic to tylenol and it is ridiculous. You guys have any idea how many things have tylenol in them? When I explain to the doctors what tylenol does to me, they shrug it off and say it isn't a true allergy, and act like I exaggerate. I don't care that it doesn't kill me, I cannot take it.

I actually can't take it. It causes me to vomit profusely and causes excruciating stomach pain. I feel faint when I take it. The internet says these are common side effects of overdosing, but even the smallest amount does it. I hate when doctors treat my reactions like it's unimportant. I don't get it.

I've taken to just telling them I get a rash and my tongue starts swelling, because then they assure me that they won't give me any.

I hate lying about reactions to my doctors, but I hate not being taken seriously too.

Anyone else have a similar 'allergy'?

I hear them more calling them drug sensitivities when anaphilax doesn't occur.

There was one point where I couldn't take any insaids, acetaminophen or aspirin.

FML.

Tylenol is the only thing I could take, but it is,my last resource. I do get a stomac ache, an itch and rash all over my body and I sometimes vomit and induce diarreah too. Also, after all side effec, more often than not, it does not help to aliviate the pain.

I have 16 drug allergies/adverse reactions. Including Benadryl. Some drugs cause twitching/tics; one caused hallucinations. Technically not an allergy, but I won’t take those things ever again!
I call them allergies, too. The ones I am allergic too are mild to severe—up to and including anaphylaxis.

Oh yeah... even tiny doses of Tylenol send me into liver failure pretty quickly. Discovered that back in college. I took a Tylenol cold medicine and ended up in the ER with liver failure bad enough I almost landed on the transplant list.

And they use it as a filler in most pain medications!

Oh I knowwwww. It's insane. I can't take excedrine, I can't take most cough syrups, I have to explicitly say I can't have it or I'll die otherwise they'll have it in my medicines....it's ridiculous

Ibuprofen damaged my kidneys; fortunately, it was diagnosed and the damage healed. I had fractured a metatarsal, and was taking it for that, on doctor’s advice. Her advice rapidly changed to ‘never take this or drugs like it!’
