Is anyone else sick of Harley's shit? My current bike is a 2017 Sportster 1200T. Sale price was 15K. The XL1200T was built for traveling long distances. And I must say, when it runs, it runs great. I've gone 135 miles and the gas light hasn't turned on.

I'm strict about maintenance. I keep it topped off with conventional oil and bring it in every 5K miles for maintenance.

But the reason I got this bike? It was because my 2015 Dyna's engine blew up. That bike was cursed lol. It was in the shop more than it was on the road.

Anyway, this is now my 3rd Harley. No matter what bike I have there's always some shit like "we have the back brakes but we don't have the front pads" "we don't have a back tire"

My bike has been in the shop now... again ... getting its engine rebuilt for the 2nd time. Last time was around xmas and was there over a month because. wait for it ... they didn't have the parts. They had to be ordered. And because of the holidays shipping took longer. This time it's been in since May 12. I hope to get it back today. But my memorial day plans were cancelled. ? Because they didn't have the parts.

So take a look at my next bike. It's an Indian Scout with all the extras and costs less fully loaded than my current bike cost without any extras.

I’ve never had problems with either of my Harley’s softail and 06 sportster. But I have a great mechanic which is not a HD dealership. That’s the last place I’d have my cycles serviced at.

I just traded my 2008 Road Glide for a 2018 Road Glide Special. What a big difference between the two. This is my 3rd Road Glide. I like having the ability of taking my tourpak off when I get to where I'm going. Less weight, less wear and tear on rear tire. It's all good. Plus the fairing fits nicely on a lawnmower for night mowing ?.

I traded my 2006 Fatboy for a 2015 Road Glide in 2015 and I like the Road Glide much better.

I ride an Indian Chief Classic and its the nicest ride I have ever owned. I wouldn't ride a Hardley if you gave it to me and paid me a hourly wage to ride it. I do a 3000 plus mile trip every year and always have to factor in an extra day for Hardley breakdowns.

I’ve never had a breakdown on my 2015 Road Glide Special in 27,000 miles. It is my 4th Harley and it’s my favorite.

I test rode a Scout a few years ago. Very comfortable bike.

Beside that, guess I'm just a poser.

Just back from Ohio BikeWeek in Sandusky. Tons of Harley posers. I ride more in a month than many of those pukes do all season.

I had an Electraglide at one point. Biggest P.O.S. boat anchor I ever had. Sold it after 3 months of headaches and no dealer support. Never again. I have had multiple Japanese bikes, and few German ones and keep coming back to Kawasaki's as they have been bullet proof in my experience. My 95 Concours had 68,000 trouble free miles when I traded it on my 14 Ninja. No issues with it so far at 16,000. That said I have heard good things about the Indian's I just with Polaris had kept Victory going as I like the style of their bikes much better. I really loved the Vision I rented a few years back.

I had a next door neighbor that was a mechanic for the Ducati racing team. He was a small engine Guru and worked on just about every motorcycle ever made including lots of Harleys. I once asked him if he were to buy another motorcycle, what would you get? His reply was "if I ever get another motorcycle I guarantee you it will be a Honda" I personally own two bikes, a Kawasaki KLR 650 and a BMW f800gs. Obviously I am a dual sport bike rider. I never worry about the KLR ever having problems, it is built like a damn tank. And the BMW is so very well designed and so very comfortable I love it very much. That is just my two cents worth. Haha

Where I live the Harley’s are the easiest to get serviced and also easiest to find parts. I love my Harley Road Glide Special.

Parts supply is the same with all dealerships regardless of brand. They don't keep stock as it is cash tied up and affects cash flow.
Bad service and poor reliability are another thing though..

I must admit, I have never been a fan of Harleys, for me, they are style over substance. I have ridden a couple and just didn't get it. Sound good, but handle like a drunken pig, vibration that has me wanting to stop every few miles to rest my tingling fingers and feet forward just doesn't do it for me either. Very different roads over here in the UK though.

I got rode back Ohio BikeWeek. Talk about a ton of Harley posers. I ride more miles in a month than many of them ride in a year.

My new Road Glide has almost no vibration. Seriously.

Bad dealership. Maybe the worse case I've heard as far as parts being available. But in general, still not a good record. I've sworn off the one I got my superglide at also. I went and got a chieftain a couple of years ago. And we both love it. A lot easier to do the fluids change and not a problem yet. My superglide has been a dam good bike though. I got it used with under 10k on it and now has over 73k on it and still kicking ass. It just needs some minor gasket work on the top end. My issues with the harley dealership was that they had a cavalier tude when I needed to get a leak fix and didn't listen to me as I explained what was going on and what I wanted done. And because of, they didn't get the leak fixed and then wanted me to pay for them to tear it apart again. I argued my case and they did it again and still didn't get the leak fixed or listen to me again. I told them with that many miles to dig all the way back and replace every gasket and anything due to be replaced. They didn't fix the leak and my belt broke 2 weeks later. So me and my bother in law went at it and did it. Issue solved. I'll never do harley again.
