The NDP are inexperienced and have shown a bad track record provincially (B.C. and ON), so I don't hold much hope for them federally. I much prefer the Lib's policies over the tories, so I'll vote for them. Not that I like being complicit in all the crap that goes on, but Canada will become Trump North if Scheer gets in. Cannot have that.
I don't like anyone, but will NEVER vote NDP under any circumstances.
I never have either, nor have I voted Liberal for that matter.
@Surfpirate I'm sick of the works of them!
@Lilac-Jade I used to wonder if voter apathy wasn't the primary goal of the main stream parties. Screw'em I'm gonna vote anyways.
@Surfpirate I vote, but am not party loyal.
look what they did to Saskatchewan, Alberta number one export people.
Cause or effect?
Seems to my that your statement is completely devoid of facts, Alberta has the fastest growing population in Canada and it is growing because Canadians from the conservative ruled provinces are moving here. Hell after tanking Saskatchewan Brad Wall even moved here to get a job.
@HeathenFarmer Brad Wall made Saskatchewan a have province.
@1ROBROY2 You are thinking Romanow the first premier in Canada to balance the budget. Wall turned it back into a have not while filling the pockets of his friend then cut and run. He also followed the Klein model of letting the oil industry dump its unfunded environmental liabilities back onto the taxpayer, something that will keep them as a have not into the future.
@HeathenFarmer we all have our own opinions. All politicians are out for themselves and their cronies. The first thing your Alberta NDP did was give themselves a big raise while Joe 6pack was fighting to stay afloat
I actively supported the NDP the last time around, largely because of Mulcair who was far and away the best candidate for PM - smart, thoughtful, educated and a formidable logician. By contrast, Harper is/was a criminal and a prick; Trudeau was/is an empty headed bimbo with a good haircut. That has all changed this time. Singh seems to be totally clueless, worse than Trudeau. Without the slightest trace of leadership, NDP has dissolved into shrill, direction-less squabbling, not unlike the PCs. This time, I shall hold my nose and vote Liberal. There simply isn't any choice, much as I wish it were otherwise.
Confession time, I gave money to Stephen Harper when he made his first run for office as a Reformer. I have voted solidly Green for the past few elections, not because they can win but because they deserve to win.
@ToolGuy I'm a lefty libertarian politically and I feel that they are the best choice. The whole point of a representative democracy is that we vote for the party/individual who best represents our ideals, this I feel is a much better approach than strategic voting or media manipulation of the voters. Therefore, I think that the Greens deserve to win, even though I know that they won't. The push by corporate powers is for a Conservative majority in the next election, a minority at worst and if somehow the NDP gets in with a majority then I would expect that there will be drastic measures taken in our corporatocracy.
@ToolGuy Believe it, I'm a lefty libertarian, it just takes a bit more thought to get your head around that instead of sticking with accepted labels. Green Fascists? that sounds interesting, do tell?
@ToolGuy I believe I addressed it adequately, a democracy is only as good as its electorate. People often vote as a knee jerk reaction to some silly current event and therefore it is quite easy to game the system, especially for wealthy elites that have a shared common interest in promoting their interests at the expense of the majority. This is why I do not consider myself an Ayn Rand sort if libertarian, I find it to be petty and selfish to the point of cutting off one's nose to spite one's face.
The social contract is broken and it needs to be mended, otherwise we will slip into totalitarianism as we have throughout history whenever the vast majority of the wealth and power has become concentrated into the hands of the very few. So in response to your suggestion that I am bicognitive, I can assure you that I am not the bull's cock and I do not go wherever I am shoved, that would be foolish.
