I live in Ontario where Climate disaster is denied. What about you? How do the numbers compare where you live? [conferenceboard.ca]

Climate change is definitely an issue in Quebec. The Montreal area is now going through some 100-year floods for the second time in three years. Many costal areas like the North Shore, Gaspesia and the Magdelene Islands are strongly hit by rising sea levels, land slides and coast erosion.
Unfortunately, that doesn't seems to worry many Quebecers who elected a right-wing government at the provincial legislature last fall. They keep delaying public transit expansion, urban sprawling is still in full swing, they keep on building highways, SUVs sales are still soaring.
I think Quebecers are pretty much divided on the issue.

Well, we live in the same province, sooo I guess we share the same numbers! ;p

What do you call it then? I live in the great lakes area, close to Lake St.Claire, global warming is the climate disaster an we're seeing it in real time. Global warming deniers are like flat earthers

I would say many on the East Coast accept that climate change is happening but most also don't want to pay for it or stop doing what harmful activities. Rising sea level won't just go away like flood waters do

Not to mention we've had 2 of the worst fire seasons on record for 2017 & 2018. Summers are longer, hotter, drier....you name it....

only government denies it ,the rest of us know it first hand ,especially with all the flooding becoming more frequent

I think it has a lot to do with die off. The sooner the dinosaurs in power die off, the sooner we will stop being so reliant on fossil fuels. I live towards the border between Ontario and Quebec and I am off to the Montreal EV Show tomorrow, part of my research on my electric bicycle business.

Good luck at the event! I too am looking for trade shows to attend for a business idea.

@Davekp Thanks, our business idea has already kicked off but we are looking for future prospects to grow the business. The new federal initiative is good for electric cars but doesn't help electric bikes or motorcycles, still there are opportunities.

I think the problem is less old folks and more rich folks. The problem is when the rich die, their children inherit their fortunes and continue the same policies, only with a vengeance because they are more distant from actually having earned it in some way.

There's nothing worse for the environment than some idiot with a silver spoon up his ass.

@mordant True enough, the problem is that most shake ups and redistributions of wealth have occurred around wars and that means a lot of people have to die for no good reason. Let's hope there is a better way than war.

@Noemi the only side effect I have experienced from E-biking so far is a bit of jaw ache from smiling so hard.
