Oil and gas are important for our economy. Those climate change fanatics will be in for a rude awakening when the pensions that they are counting on won't be there b/c of cuts to social programs caused by lower GDP.

@callmedubious I wonder how many are aware that Canada, that accounts for 0,48% of the world population, emits 1.6% of the world CO2. That means we emit more than three times the world average and that we are more a part of the problem than the solution. Most of our politicians are brainwashed into believing that we can dig out and burn as much fossil fuel as we can without poisoning our atmosphere, wrecking up our climate and threatening all life forms. Utter BS
A clean atmosphere and a stable climate are important for life on earth. Those fossil fuel fanatics will be in for a rude awakening when climate mayhem gets worse. Natural disasters happening more often, flooded coastal cities and areas, thawing permafrost, polluted air and water making people sick, millions of climate refugees knocking at our doors, mass extinction of animal and plant species.
