-2 at my house right now. At my advanced age, I'm starting to think I need to find a new place for winters. Any suggestions?
Tampa, Florida is a buyers market! I have been thinking of moving there or at least spending several months a year there.
Thanks, I love being close to the ocean, but Florida?!?!
Sianukville, Cambodia.
Looks beautiful, but I am inclined to stay in the states.
If I had the opportunity, I would be on a plane out of the US in the morning. It's way too expensive here.
When you can own a really nice, spacious beach front condo in a place like Sianukville for the same price that you can own a dump in the worst area of town here in the US, it's just not worth hanging around anymore.
Couple that with the fact that the people are friendlier and more easy going and the weather is much nicer and it's an easy sell for me.
@webbew1 I agree! USA is too expensive! I plan to retire as an expat - probably in Panama, hopefully in the next 3 - 4 years.
@TravelChick Also look into Ecuador. I have a couple of friends that have retired there and love it.
@jerry99 I suggest Las Vegas. Anytime between mid November and late December, the weather is usually sunny and mild (especially compared to Colorado) and tourist numbers are down, due to more family-oriented, holiday-based travel at that time of year. That is the best time to see smaller crowds, better prices on EVERYTHING and still not have to deal with 100+ degree weather. Check out Lake Las Vegas if you want a peaceful, "far from The Strip" feel. There are lots of outdoor activities there and they are pet-friendly. I lived in Vegas for 14 years, so hit me up for any other questions. I grew up in Phoenix, so I can tell you about that area as well. Good luck!
@wendymai1 Thanks, I've always had a good time in LV, but I wouldn't want to be there again in the summer with its 115 degree temps. It's still a great place to visit though -- great restaurants, amazing shows, lots of sightseeing to do. I was a math major in college so gambling has little appeal for me. Still, it's a great place. At the moment, I'm working on a move to Albuquerque.
