Well, there's been lots of folks talking about voting in the midterms in the past few days! That's a good thing in my opinion! 
. However there's another thing to start thinking on! The ELECTORAL college! Check your state on how they are selected! Start to inquire who they are and whether they represent you or the financial interests pushing the propaganda machine! Demand transparency and accountability of your Governor and State Legislature regarding the ELECTORAL college and act accordingly! Vote early and often!

If we go with strict popular vote, I'm certain politicians would solely look at the biggest cities. We mostly ignore entire states already, but I think breaking the e-votes down by how the population votes is worth serious thought.
A couple of states already do this. There wouldn't be blue v red states since even the most partisan states have at least 30% of their population as the minority party.
As with ANYTHING, we should encourage smart people to think of as many unintended consequences as they can.
I agree we need to get new younger and honest reps and push for transparency in all things and single issue bills lowering salaries prosecuting bribes negating everything trump
