do you list the NRA with the KKK? Do you really equate gun ownership with racial discrimination??
No.
To which comment is the "NO" directed?
@fishline79 I've never equated gun ownership with racial discrimination. As for the NRA... I just read your comment below, and I confess to not having any knowledge of the origins of the NRA. So no knowledge, no comment. It's a personal principle is all. A reminder to always keep self-educating.
@PeterDvorak That's OK. That's what were here for. (isnt it?)
Fascism is Fascism. I will sometime re-post my comparison between Fascism and Religion.
I like that one, definitely.
I sure do. The NRA was originally formed back at the beginning of the 20th century to control arms proliferation. It was since commandeered by right-wing groups (like the KKK) to keep such laws from passing. I was not saying that it was PART of the KKK but just part of the same political movement.
@DarrelScott Yes, and those "Dixicrats" have since gone over to the Republican side of the aisle. (Republicans in the 19th Cent. being the party of Lincoln!)
fishline79 you are exactly wrong. The NRA was, as DarrelScott noted, founded in 1871, not the early 20th century. Furthermore, it was founded by a group of Union army officers for the advancement of marksmanship and firearm safety, modeled after a similar organization in England. On the other hand, the first gun control laws in the US were designed to keep guns out of the hands of Africans in America - both free blacks and slaves. THAT is fascism at its worst, and that is what gun control nuts continue to want - to centralize the power of the gun in the hands of their own elite, which they call "the state," which history has proven over and over again to be completely honest, benevolent, just, and merciful (sarcasm intended).
