The police overreacted. They have been accused of not doing enough to counter hate crimes and have decided to respond by clamping down on them before they escalate. However, they overreached themselves by going too far in this case. By trying to preempt a hate crime, they impinged on this man’s right to free speech. There is a fine line between freedom of speech and incitement to commit a crime and the line is far from clear as it relies on judgement and intent. The line about the mammal and fish was just a memorable way in which to make his point, but it has now gone viral because of the internet.

That quote doesn't even make sense....

@Jetty I understand the issues but that quote doesn't describe anything real...

@Jetty It looks like a sophomoric and very bad comparison to me. Comparing two different species to human sexual orientation doesn't even make any kind of logical sense, IMO.
