What is the difference between a nudist and a naturist?
Although the terms are used interchangeably, "naturist” is the preferred term for people who enjoy being nude in public settings. Meanwhile “nudist” may be used to describe those who hang out in the buff, but are less connected to the spiritual and health aspects.
I've always used "nudist" to describe a person who just prefers to be naked when possible, while I use "naturist" to describe a person who likes to be naked in the natural world, as opposed to being naked in "civilization".
