I try to make any events where nudity is allowed. The mor eof us who shuw up for such events, the better chance that societal views will change.

Nope. There are no UK laws against simply being naked in public. Not in England and Wales, anyway. Scotland and Northern Ireland are a little trickier (and a little and a lot more repressed, respectively.)

"Indecent exposure" was removed from the statutes a number of years ago. I believe with the introduction of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Simple nudity with no sexual activity is expressly excluded from the Sexual Offences Act. However if you're indulging in sexual activities while naked in public (or witnesses can convince the police and a magistrate or jury that you were) you can still be in bother.

Police will often offer a caution. Never accept it. It's an admission of guilt, and it will go on your record and show up on a CRB check (or whatever they call it these days.) The other thing they might try to charge you under is Section 5 of the Public Order Act 1986. These charges rarely result in convictions in cases of simple nudity, and the few that do are invariably overturned on appeal. These days, the CPS is unlikely to consider it in anyone's interest to prosecute.

Don't be confrontational about it, and you'll be within the law. Do it to shock/offfend/upset, and you can find yourself in trouble. If you want to sunbathe or hang your washing out in the back garden while naked, just go for it. I do.

As for the burqua, I think it's massively oppressive to women, and would gladly see it banned. True, some women feel naked without one, but only because they've been conditioned to feel that way by a culture that treats women as property of their male partner, once they have one, and their parents and male siblings prior to that. My only concern with banning them altogether is that some women might literally not be allowed to leave their homes by their families or partners, if they can't cover themselves head to toe while doing so.
