Would anyone here happen to be nudists from North Carolina? I'd like to find nudist friends close to me in which to hang out. Thus far, I've not found any.

You may also try the AANR.org website to see if they have any affiliated clubs near you. AANR (American Association for Nude Recreation) and TNS (The Naturist Society)are the two American (family friendly) nudist organizations.

I've done that research already. I just can't afford to attend a resort sadly. Truenudists has people on it, but most haven't checked their profiles in years upon years. Nudist compass was hard to navigate for me personally and I got fed up with it.
@Oakenshield Yeah, the resources out there are not ideal, but it is what we got to work with. I jujst make the best of it. I really miss the craiglist personals, where I used to find other nudists who also enjoyed platonic nude recreation with some regularity.
You may also do some searches to see if there is a World Naked Bike Ride near you. As you are in NC, I am doubtful they woudl have one there, but most large cities do have one. If there is one near you get in touch with the organizers if you can and query them. Or you can go to the ride and query the other participants.
You may also check meetup.com to see if there are any local nudist activity groups
