Hi guys! New to the group. Gonna do an intro.
I used to work in game development as a job I was duped into taking while doing my junior year of undergrad, and I worked as an artist, even though art wasn't my field of study.
I game when I have a new experience I want to try out, and I like to set up personalized challenges. I will play the hell out of a game sometimes. I have been gaming for 23 years, since I was a toddler, but never got into e-sports or streaming, so forget about me having a semblance of real skill. I did get pretty decent at some FPS games, but that's it.
I enjoy games that are any of the traits of original, funny, immersive, well-coded, artful, challenging, tactical, mentally stimulating, cinematic, and allowing for inventiveness.
I really despise games that are overly twitchy, are glitchy, require lots of grinding, have lots of trial and error, and have overused elements. For example, there is a huge abundance of military FPS games with ADS, so most of those are a no-no.
One of the worst games I have ever played are Borderlands 2, and TES Online, which both embody absolute brainless monotony in video games. There is the Dragon Keep DLC for BL2 which is amazing, but everything else is crap, and TES Online never, ever came close to Skyrim, Morrowind, TES Arena, etc.
My favorite of all time is "Batman: Arkham City" (huge Batman fan of about 23 years, here), which is a game that I view as very rich in variety, immersion and depth. I used to play PvP in CS:GO, Halo 2 Vista, Halo 3, Halo Reach, MW3, BO and BOII a lot.
Here is a list of my top games. I have played hundreds upon hundreds of games, but I hated most of them:
I recently just got Nioh, Dark Souls 3, and Dark Souls 2 SOTFS with maybe four puzzle games on steam (steam ID: danzhukov2). I have already played DS 2 and DS 3 a lot on Xbox One, but I wanted to do modding and stuff, so I got them on PC also.
I also just picked up FIFA 15, since I absolutely insist on having the games that interest me the most from all the genres. I needed more sports games besides UFC, Forza and Rocket League.
Right now, I am trying to finish Return to Arkham, Europa Universalis, realMyst: Masterpiece edition, and Layers of Fear. I like to hunt for achievements. I have emulators and a 360, but I mainly play PC and Xbox One games.
So yeah, that is basically me. I try to collect the most well-made games from all the genres, and I try to build skills in them.
