Hi everyone!
I don’t know about you, but I find the enemy respawn mechanics used in many open world games to be terrible and completely immersion wrecking – Far Cry 2 and 3 I’m looking at both of you!
It came as a pleasant surprise then to find a FREE standalone game which handled respawns better than any AAA game I have ever experienced. That game is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Lost Alpha Developers Cut 1.4007. I recently wrote an article explaining how many games get respawns wrong, and how Lost Alpha gets it right.
NB – Since writing the article below Lost Alpha has spawned two updated versions of itself (pun intended), these being ‘LB's LADC 1.4007 Compilation’ and ‘LA DC Extended’ which are possibly even better. Download link is in the article
