I saw an amazing video that really helped me understand hate and intolerance.
Human beings are so complex, we have a million different genetic components that make up our personalities and behaviours. One that I find difficult is people that are so adamant in their hate that they cannot be reasoned with in any way.
However.
An interesting theory; These people are an evolutionary necessity. There is a theory that serial killers, rapists, and people that seem to have just snapped and destroyed fellow human beings, are a result of evolution. And a necessity to humanity as a whole. The nature vs. Nurture debate is 50/50. There's no positive answer there. So maybe it's something that resembles a genetic minefield.
When you hear about murder or rape you think in your head
"That's horrible!" Or more rarely you may think "that might be super fun"
This is your moral compass making itself known. Without serial killers and people that many of us find horrifying, we would have no contrast for peace. You need darkness to really appreciate the light, type of deal.
The same goes for those stubborn homophobes or racist people that never seem to change.
These horrible people, as irrational and Pathetic they seem, create a ripple effect of strength and unity. They show us the worst so that we can be better.
Without direction or passion, life would be meaningless. It would be dull and grey.
Without chaos there is no peace.
Without madness there is no sanity.
I slept soundly for the first time in a long time.
I have long subscribed to the view that love and hate are not at opposite ends of a spectrum; they both require emotional investment. The other end of that spectrum is disinterest and dissociation.
@BookDeath Nicely put, thank you.

Posted by BookDeathHere's a pic of my new haircut! I got it for ACE WEEK! The comet symbol represents GENDER NEUTRAL and the circle represents ACE.
Posted by BookDeathI FINALLY got my binder from g2cb! I bought one of the nude tank binders. It is proving a life-changing experience. I do not why I waited so long?
Posted by birdingnutI'm a nonbinary/partial transmale, but luckily I'm taking high THC Indicus cannabis oil for cancer treatment, which suppresses my strong male tendencies.

Posted by PeevesWhen I was in school for photography I discovered my professor was quite against gay rights and thought we just needed to meet someone good in bed and get some mental help.
Posted by BookDeathI also posted this in the LGBTQ group so it's a cross-posting. For Pride Month, I designed my own Chucks at Converse. I can't afford them (yet) but felt like showing off my creation!
