Irony:
My dad entered "the truth" as they call it, when he was in his mid twenties therefore all of us had to endure this for our entire childhoods (8 siblings).
After we were adults and the permanent damage had already been done to many of my siblings (depression meds, bipolar, suicidal, stuck living in the past unable to move forward with their lives, damaged from the sexual abuse, I could go on...)... What's ironic is that my dad is now not only disfellowshipped, but he is considered an apostate by the JWs.
How fucked up is that???? Lol
The kids HE forced into this cult no longer associate with him! rotfl (3 kids are still JW's)
It's good that now you can laugh about it, hopefully the damage isn't actually permanent. Sometimes we laugh when we really want to cry. Has your dad ever said to y'all "sorry kids, my bad" or anything like that?
I've been fine for decades but a lot of my siblings aren't still today past it.
Nope no nothing from my dad.
Anyone that's an ex JW knows the only way to move past and beyond is make a concerted effort to shake yourself of those chains. It's tough, or can be for many, to be bigger and better than that which you were exposed too
