I think things will change and improve but it be agonizingly slow. It took decades just to bring homosexuality from being socially shunned and criminalized to being socially acceptable and about two more decades for same-sex marriage to be legalized across the U.S. and that was barely 6 years ago.

As religion's tight grip on our society and government slowly weakens and the older generations die off (who are likely the largest group who are highly religious and socially rigid) we will see better acceptance of trans and non-binary individuals. Unfortunately, I think it may well be 15 or 20 more years before this happens.

When dealing with a society, especially one like ours in the U.S., social change can be terribly slow and extremely unfair for those who are treated unfairly.

The bright side is that its very likely that you will see incredible change within your lifetime and your generation will be a big part of that change.

If only those gay fuckers would stop causing hurricanes and what-not!
