My sibling recently came out as binary. I remember my mom saying that this sibling had been a twin pregnancy but they had absorbed the other. Upon hearing the siblings transition I started searching about this concept. I found something called vanishing twin syndrome. It seems it happens in roughly 12% of pregnancies. [en.wikipedia.org] It goes on to mention the possibility of becoming chimeric. This has me wondering if the vanishing twin was male and my sibling has some cells from them making them feel as both male and female. Thoughts?
