Hello all! I work at a health care facility and run an LGBTQ+ peer support group. The patients are mental health patients. All the group members believe in the mythical thing they god. They do know I don't believe and I do not push my views. When comes up, I just listen and silently wish that they would open their eyes. Any suggestions and recommendations I can make to them for more LGBTQ+ support? Thanks and HAPPY PRIDE!!!!!!!!
I suppose they could find any LGBTQ+ group supportive. If they are spiritual, then hopefully they can find a LGBTQ-affirming denomination of their religion. . I briefly worked at a mental clinic and noticed that many of the clients attended Pentecostal churches. They seemed to enjoy having emotionally-stimulating experience, but also seemed to be susceptible to emotional manipulation. It might be helpful for group members to discuss how their religious practice helps or harms their emotional health and sexual identity.
