Unauthorized bio docu on Whitney Houston is incredibly sad. On one level, it sounds kind of like a salacious tabloid piece, but on the other, to me, someone who grew up steeped in fundamentalist anti-gay shit, and who met a lesbian couple who swear up and down that they personally saw her frequenting a lesbian dive back in their college days, it sounds like all the pieces fit. I keep thinking about how over the top her award show award acceptance speeches always were with "Thank you God almighty" professions. She REALLY seemed to be trying too hard, along the lines of "Thou dost protest too much." It's all very sad to me. I realize it will be called purely speculative and dismissed as such. I can't dismiss it, because it adds up too well. Read this article. What do you think?
