For many, the Bible IS their biology textbook. It should be great, because it is only a couple of millenia back from being current. Anyway, it tells us it is infallible, so surely it couldn't be mistaken about that, right? Ugh. ?

I think transphobic cis men are more threatened by the fact that they like the wrapper, but know they shouldn't like the biscuits (cookies) inside of it. A well presented trans woman engages their sexual attraction cues just as a cis woman would, but knowing what's 'down there' (or what used to be) confuses them and triggers their inner homophobia. You then get the blame for instilling this discomfort about their sexuality in them. The reality is that the wrapper is enough to get them horny, and after that, anything could happen, especially after a few drinks.

And regardless of whether they actually feel attracted to a trans woman, being transphobic towards them gives them an opportunity to assert their cisgender heterosexuality. I always said you only get hassle from teenagers and adult drunks, but as a friend recently pointed out to me, neither ever does it solo: they only ever do it as part of a group. It allows them to affirm their lack of interest in trans women, or to smoke screen their interest, if it's there.

Male binary sexuality can be incredibly fragile. And that's where toxic masculinity comes into play. What astounded me was that male homosexuality can be every bit as fragile as male heterosexuality, and they can feel just as threatened by trans women, if they're attracted to them when they feel they shouldn't be.

My sympathies. I’m not trans myself, nor do I know anyone who is, so I can’t say I truly understand what it’s like to deal with these idiots.

I have to wonder if their issue is truly with the concept of trans people, or with the societal change their growing acceptance represents. I’d like to think these people are just irrational scared simply because they don’t understand, rather than just malicious.

At least we are making progress in this front. Hopefully the next generation won’t have to suffer quite so much. Just keep in mind that for every 6th grade biology dropout and brainless TERF out there, there are yet more people that support you and your rights to live your life as you are.
