I boycott quietly. I wish I could boycott Walmart, but they are hard to beat.

I had two men walk up to me and tell me I'm a sinner who's going to hell. I didn't collude with Russia, or have sweat shops in China, or even lie to the press on a regular basis. Are only the religious allowed to name call? Even if Samantha Bee is totally right (she is)? Just wondering.

I have never been a believer in the power of Boycotting, since it seems the publicity generated by publicly "taking a stand" is like free advertising for the targeted business. However, I still believe principles have a place, and certainly letting a company know you appreciate a positive stand they have taken on a social issue can at least be an encouragement to them. As for fast food, truly an elective, rather than essential, product. Regardless of any financial bottom line impact on them, I feel more genuine to my own values not to give particularly offensive businesses my money. I don't see Wendy's choice in this case as rising to that level, but to each their own. Personal judgment.
